Weddings and other special events

Manifesto
You and the people closest to you have put so much thought and effort into this monumental moment in your lives. Why experience it only once?

Moreover, why not do so on video? A still camera takes a picture once every time you say cheese. A video camera takes a picture 30 times every time your heart beats. Many couples still see video as a last, budget-contingent option, rather than as a priority. This paradigm ought to shift. Still photography is still important, a different medium with its own virtues, but the heart of your day can only beat (and beat on) on video.* And we at Bellingham don't deal in glossy magazine prints or overly-stylized and focus-pulled filmstrips that replace your unique human images with interchangeable, air-brushed-looking models; we capture your actual, lived life. We capture the moments that are truly yours.

We are devoted to translating to the screen all the magic and emotion of your special day. Subscribing to a "Direct Cinema" philosophy of film-making, we strive to capture your event true-to-life in a discreet and non-intrusive manner. We mingle live, linear video and sound with summary montage in order to convey the spirit of your day through a concise and inherently watchable re-experience.  We employ full High-Definition (1080x1920) cameras and the industry's preferred high-end post-production software (Premiere Pro and Final Cut). The end goal and product is nothing less than a video of your life that you will want to watch again and again for the rest of your life. (Review our testimonials.)

Special Features:

HD Blu-Ray: Have your package delivered in High-Definition on Blu-Ray. ($40)

Highlight Reel: Warning!  This often becomes our clients' favourite part of the video!  In addition to the main feature, we edit a short montage of the day's key events, effectively summarizing the occasion in just a couple minutes of video, set to the music of your choosing.  This is an incredible way to re-experience your wedding at any time, and to quickly show it off to family, friends, or anyone else who is interested or was absent. ($80)

Slideshow: You send us up to 50 digital photos and we produce a slideshow at the beginning of your wedding video.  This is a good option if you want to include some memories of your engagement, bachelor and bachelorette parties, childhoods, or any other memorable times shared before your life as a married couple. ($80)

Go Mobile!: We include as computer-accessible data on your disc a copy of your wedding (and/or Highlight Reel) in your favourite mobile format (e.g., iPod video). ($40)

Extra Copies: Each extra DVD copy (in addition to the included three) is $15. Each extra HD Blu-Ray copy is $20.

Notes
*Notably, couples often ask us to accompany them to their still photography shoots; we happily oblige, and there in effect take "still photography on video." Of course, these resulting "photographs," which we collate into a montage, are not in fact still, but moving versions of their still counterparts, much like the "magic" photographs depicted in the Harry Potter series or, for that matter, that appear on a DVD's scene-selection menu.

**Exceptionally, the "Civil" package's three copies come in sleeves, and, due to the shorter content,
have chapter stops for easy linear navigation but not scenes selectable from a menu.
